To commemorate the U.S. Coast Guard's 221st birthday on Thursday, the 9th Coast Guard District, headquartered here, announced its Great Lakes Coast Guard Hometown Heroes today.
The Great Lakes Coast Guard Hometown Heroes are Coast Guardsmen assigned near their hometowns, who have, through continuous exceptional service, demonstrated their commitment to the Coast Guard's core values: honor, respect, and devotion to duty.
