TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. — Coast Guard Air Station Traverse City was presented with the "Caught Thriving Award" by Traverse City State Bank on Thursday at a ceremony at the air station.
The Caught Thriving Award is given monthly to local businesses and organizations that are helping the area to thrive.
The air station was recognized for its many volunteer efforts. "There are many things that make being stationed in Traverse City special," said Cmdr. Joseph Buzzella, commanding officer of the air station. "Most notably is the strong relationship between the Coast Guard and the community.
