USCG TRANSPORTS INJURED MAN FROM GREAT LAKES VESSEL DETROIT - The U.S. Coast Guard transported an injured crewman from the motor vessel American Spirit, today, after he suffered two facial lacerations. The 49-year-old was flown to Harbor Beach Airport, transferred to an awaiting Emergency Medical Services ambulance and taken to Harbor Beach Community Hospital. U.S. Coast Guard Sector Detroit received a call from 1,004-foot American Spirit, at approximately 5:30 p.m., reporting the injury to the crewman. A Coast Guard Air Station Detroit HH-65 Dolphin helicopter launched and recovered the crewman at 6:12 p.m. He was transferred to the awaiting EMS at 7:52 p.m., and taken to Harbor Beach Community Hospital.
