MASSENA, N.Y. -- Marine Science Technician 2nd Class Patrick of Marine Safety Detachment Massena analyzed the salinity of the Italian-flagged vessel BBC Finland's ballast water in the Eisenhower Locks in Massena Oct. 19. MSD Massena inspects all vessels entering the Great Lakes via the St. Lawrence Seaway to ensure ballast water exchange to prevent the introduction of invasive species such as zebra mussels.
