COAST GUARD LORAN STATION BAUDETTE TRANSFERS COMMAND BAUDETTE, Minn. - Chief Thomas Hanson will transfer command of Long-Range Navigation Station Baudette to Chief Aaron Urbanawiz during a change-of-command ceremony Friday, Aug. 1, 2008, at 10 a.m. There ceremony will be held, here, at the American Legion Post 217. Hanson, who has been the Officer-in-Charge of LORAN Baudette since June 12, 2003, will retire and reside here. Chief Aaron Urbanawiz's previous assignment was the Operations Officer of LORAN Station Port Clarence Ak. The change of command is a time-honored tradition and deeply rooted in Coast Guard and Naval history. The event signifies a total transfer of responsibility, authority and accountability for the command.
