Coast Guard conducts survival training in West Bay 

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. - Flight crews from Coast Guard Air Station Traverse City will be conducting survival training at Bryant Park on West Grand Traverse Bay at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 9, 2008. 

The annual training is conducted to ensure pilots and aircrew members remain familiar with emergency equipment and proficient in cold water survival techniques. 

Local residents may see the Coast Guard members, their emergency equipment and life rafts, and a Coast Guard Helicopter operating in West Bay. 

Interested media is invited to participate in the training and should contact the Air Station's Public Affairs Officer, Lt j.g. Christopher Yane, at (231) 922-8273 to make necessary arrangements.
