Local organization honors Coast Guard 

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. -  Mount Holiday Ski and Recreation Area is hosting a Coast Guard Appreciation Day on Thursday, Jan. 29, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The not-for-profit organization has graciously offered an afternoon of discounted skiing, snow boarding, and snow tubing to members of Air Station Traverse City and all other Northern Lower Michigan Coast Guard stations.

"We are incredibly grateful to Mount Holiday and other Traverse City organizations for their wonderful support of the Coast Guard," says Captain Stuart Merrill, Commanding Officer of Air Station Traverse City.  "Opportunities like this allow our dedicated men and women who stand the watch with such selfless dedication to recharge their batteries at a great sporting event like this."

Mount Holiday Ski and Recreation Area is a not-for-profit organization that is focused on providing affordable winter and summer recreation opportunities for the Traverse City area community.

The Coast Guard would like to thank Mount Holiday Ski & Recreation Area for offering this occasion for Coast Guardsmen and their families to enjoy an afternoon of relaxation and fun.
