A Station Ashtabula 33-foot Special Purpose Craft-Law Enforcement (SPC-LE) transported the man to shore safely for awaiting Emergency Medical Services, while a Conneaut Fire airboat rescued a three-year-old passenger with two broken legs.

"His head went through the console, and he suffered other injuries to his chest and ankle,"," said Boatswain's Mate 3rd Class Anton Lesovsky, 33-footer coxswain. "The boat was out of the water parallel with the breakwall."

A lifeflight helicopter took the man to St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Youngstown, and a lifeflight delivered a three-year-old passenger to Rainbow Babies and Children Hospital in Cleveland.

A Conneaut Fire Department marine unit arrived on scene initially before the station and rescued an adult and three children passengers, ages three, six and seven.

The two other children sustained various injuries, and lifeflight took them to a hospital in Conneaut.
