NEW COMMANDER FOR COAST GUARD AIR STATION DETROIT – Coast Guard Air Station Detroit, located at Selfridge Air National Guard Base, will change Commanding Officers with a ceremony at 11 a.m. on July 9th. Rear Admiral Robert Papp, 9th Coast Guard District Commander, will conduct the ceremony. In the private military ceremony, Commander Jeffrey Ogden will relieve Commander Mark E. Butt, Jr. Commander Ogden comes to Detroit from his previous assignment as Deputy Group Commander of Coast Guard Group/Air Station Humboldt Bay, California. Commander Butt departs for Washington D.C where he will serve as the Chief of Aeronautical Engineering. The ceremony is open to the media. Because of security requirements, media representatives must be registered in advance. Registered representatives will be placed on an access list and a photo ID will be required to be displayed prior to entering the Selfridge ANG Base. Representatives must register with Coast Guard Air Station Detroit, (586) 307-6700, no later than 4 p.m., Thursday, July 1st. ###
