Located in Milwaukee, Wisc., Sector Lake Michigan is the operational and administrative command for 22 subordinate field units, including 19 multi-mission Stations, 1 Marine Safety Unit, 1 Marine Safety Detachment and 1 Sector Field Office. Sector Lake Michigan is responsible for all Coast Guard missions on Lake Michigan and surrounding navigable waterways, including search and rescue, law enforcement, aids to navigation, marine safety, and homeland security.

An Air Station Traverse city HH-65 crew landed on the fantail of HMCS Charlottetown as the 442-foot Cnandian frigate headed toward Dock 32 in downtown Cleveland Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008.
